Very tasty salmon, baked in puff pastry: juicy and aromatic. Delicious!
I always have puff pastry in my fridge. Using it, you can make a lot of delicious dishes. Salmon baked in puff pastry is one of them. It prepares quickly, looks beautiful, and tastes just great!
Ingredients
Skinless, boneless salmon fillets sliced in portions (approximately 200 - 250 gr. for one serving)
Thawed puff pastry
Natural yogurt, honey mustard, horseradish, salt, pepper - to taste
Grated cheese – just a little
Whisked egg - 1
Cooking instructions:
Step 1
Marinate the salmon in natural yogurt with horseradish and honey mustard.
Step 2
Cut and roll out puff pastry gently on a work surface until each of them slightly larger than the size of salmon fillets.
Step 3
Place the salmon to a paper towel for few seconds to remove any excess moisture.
Then transfer each portion of salmon fillets in a center of an each piece of dough. Season the salmon with salt and pepper. Put thinly sliced onion and tomato on top of each portion, then moisten the edges of the puff pastry with water or whisked egg, and seal them to form a boat. Sprinkle with grated cheese on top. Brush the dough with a whisked egg.
Step 4
Put each boat on a piece parchment paper. Wrap the ends of the paper to form a spiral shape. Transfer them to a baking sheet.
Step 5
Bake in preheated oven (350F) for 10 minutes, then unfold the parchment paper to allow the dough to bake on the sides. Raise oven temperature to 425F (220C) and bake for another 7-10 minutes until the pastry is puffed and golden, and the salmon has cooked all the way through.
If you take larger pieces of salmon, then the baking time will need to be increased.
Enjoy!
